Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
I am a singer/songwriter. What does this studio
offer me over other facilities?
A:
We have the ability to help you realise the full
production of your songs. We’re affordable and we’re dedicated to
making your recordings come to life.
An array of experienced musicians, vocalists and instrumentalists are available to augment any arrangement that your project requires. We can also provide mobile recording services and remote recording.
Q:
What should I expect from recording at your
studio?
A:
You can expect a relaxed and creative environment where
your efforts will come to fruition. The end result, of course,
depends upon the effort that you put in.
We will match you step for step. In addition, at Bold Fold we’re happy to assist in song and production development, which we have done with great success for many other clients.
Q:
What is the process for recording a
song?
A:
After a song has been composed, a template is made and
drum/beat/rhythm tracks are created. From there, additional parts
can be added using actual instruments or virtual sounds.
This process varies from style to style and song to song. Or, you can simply perform your music live and capture your sounds. To get a sense for what we do feel free to listen to our sound samples.
Q:
What technology do you have
available at your studio?
A:
Our state-of-the-art DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) is the heart of
studio. Extremely clean, high resolution masters are securely stored
and transferred according to your needs.
Some of the available microphones include AKG, Apex, Shure and Audio Technica. Instrument amplifiers include Victoria, Fender, and Blair Valve Amp Co. Samples and loops via Addictive Drums, L.A. Drums, EZ Drummer, Groove Agent, Hypersonic and more. Fender and Gibson guitars are available as well.
Lets not forget our much loved, a turn-of the-century upright piano!
Q:
What are your rates?
A:
Frankly, we’re cheap...but we’re not stupid. We put in
extra hours that aren’t calculated but we do offer competitive rates
dependent on the requirements of the project.
